Giving Back
The entertainment industry is all about self-promotion. Michael Nardelli balances that by getting involved in several charities.
“I have been given so much, that I feel a tremendous responsibility to help other people,” Michael explains. “I have a supportive family and great friends. The more good things that come my way the more I realize how much I want to help others when they are in distress."
That attitude was nurtured by Michael’s parents, Bob and Sue, from a young age. Both are actively involved in charitable organizations. Michael remembers a few birthday parties where friends donated to the Ronald McDonald House, rather than giving him gifts.
His favorite charities are those that support people going through difficult times or for animals in need. “Animals don’t have voices, so we have to be their protectors,” says Michael, who has two labradoodles, Belle and Lily. Growing up, his family had everything from birds to lizards to hamsters, as well as dogs and cats.

PATH – This organization battles homelessness, a family at a time. So far, Michael has helped five single mothers and their children move into new homes over the last two years. He has also helped furnish the homes by collecting items the mothers need, from toiletries to furniture.
National Council of Jewish Women in L.A. – As a part of Michael’s work with PATH, he has donated to this organization, which operates thrift shops throughout L.A.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®) – The ASPCA’s mission is to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.
Greatplainsspca – This charity that helps homeless animals was started by a family friend.
Best Friends – This organization helps to save the lives of homeless animals in L.A.
Variety Boys and Girls Club – The club’s mission is to provide innovative and stimulating academic, leadership and recreational programming in a safe and nurturing environment to the underserved children and families in the historic Boyle Heights community.
Wounded Warrior Project – The Wounded Warrior Project supports programs and services for wounded veterans. Its mission is to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation's history.
Autism Speaks – Autism Speaks helps raise awareness, fund research, provide vital resources, and advocate for the needs of people with autism.
